Boards of Accountancy These agencies determine educational requirements and eligibility for candidates wishing to take the Uniform CPA Exam. There is a Board of Accountancy in each of the 50 US states as well as five other jurisdictions. Each board of accountancy also controls the licensing of certified public accountants (CPAs) within its jurisdiction.
